Barrhaven is a fast growing suburb of Ottawa just southwest of downtown. It is located between the Greenbelt and the Rideau River and surrounded mainly by farmland. The community is divided into a number of smaller areas including Barrhaven proper or “Old Barrhaven”. Those who want to escape the countryside can find solace in the growing Riverside South area across the river where a number of shops, restaurants and local events are held.
